You can also long-press on the Settings icon again for 5 seconds. The final option, Other, hides the setting for the most interesting UI tweak, power notification controls. Tap on that and it should open up the hidden System UI Tuner. Tap on it to expand the list and see all available System UI activities. Next, scroll all the way down to System UI. To turn it back off, tap the action overflow menu from within the System UI Tuner section and choose to turn it off. When you want to turn off System UI Tuner, just tap the three dots in the upper right corner. Open up Activity Launcher and change the view mode to see All activities.

In the final version of Android 6.0 Marshmallow though, this doesn’t automatically happen. In fact, Google has completely hidden the setting unless you perform a secret action to enable it. In the Android M Developer Preview, after holding this icon for a few seconds, the Settings app would automatically pop up and you will be told that the System UI Tuner has been added to your Settings app. The System UI Tuner that was first introduced in Android M’s preview 1 and 2 is back again in Android 6.0’s preview 3, only it’s not as easy to find as it once was.
